Description of lesson (if you were to describe to a parent what was happening in the classroom for this lesson, what would you say in 3-5 sentences).
The main purpose of this lesson is to familiarize students with Spain as a country. Most importantly, however, is not to reinforce the idea that Spain exists as one uniform state, but that it is made up of very distinct autonomous communities. The exercise should highlight particularities or recognized regional symbols for each of these communities.

Assignment (homework or in-class: this is how the learner will practice the learning that has just occurred):
In-class worksheet with 17 questions.

Resources/materials needed:

Technology used:
Online search engines.

The technology used in this lesson changes the teaching / learning in this way: By providing students with instant access with up-to-date information about the autonomous communities. Further, the process of having to research and being forced to formulate their own search strategy for each question is a far more effective way to convey information than, for example, lecture or assigned readings. This assignment provides an interactive style of learning through a medium which all modern students are comfortable and versed in.
